Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children's Home Manager in Preston. This role is ideal for both Deputy Managers seeking the next step in their career and experienced Registered Managers looking to join a forward-thinking organization. The Children's Home Manager will be responsible for the safe and effective management of a children's home, supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Responsible Individual (RI) to ensure the service remains compliant with OFSTED and company standards, maintaining a current 'Good' OFSTED rating. You will manage, recruit, develop, and supervise a dedicated staff team, ensuring all children receive child-focused support to create positive outcomes. Additional responsibilities include managing safeguarding concerns and overseeing the home's budget.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Preston, offering a competitive salary of up to £60,000.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the children's home in Preston
- Lead and develop a team of staff, ensuring high standards of care and support
- Support children and young people with EBD and challenging behaviours
- Ensure compliance with OFSTED regulations and company policies
- Oversee safeguarding procedures and manage safeguarding concerns
- Manage the home's budget effectively
- Work collaboratively with the RI to maintain service standards and ratings
Requirements:
- Level 5 in Leadership and Management
- Level 3 in Children and Young People
- Valid Driving Licence
- Experience as a Deputy or Registered Manager in a children's home
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of OFSTED regulations and compliance standards
