Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children's Registered Manager to join a leading specialist provider in the children's residential care sector. This role is based in Wakefield and offers the chance to lead a 3-bed residential home dedicated to supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with OFSTED regulations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold OFSTED registration for the children's home
  • Manage the residential service, providing expert support to children and young people with EBD
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a staff team including Deputies, Team Leaders, and Support Workers
  • Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams and social care professionals
  • Ensure the service meets OFSTED standards and complies with all regulatory requirements
  • Oversee staff performance, training, and development
  • Monitor and update care plans to ensure they are accurate and effective
  • Manage safeguarding concerns and ensure a safe environment for children and staff
  • Work closely with senior management to implement company policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management or equivalent
  • Experience as a Deputy or Registered Manager within children’s residential care
  • Strong knowledge of OFSTED regulations and standards
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • Passion for working with children and young people with EBD

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing a children's residential service
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
