Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children's Registered Manager to join a leading specialist provider in the children's residential care sector. This role is based in Wakefield and offers the chance to lead a 3-bed residential home dedicated to supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with OFSTED regulations. Key Responsibilities:
- Hold OFSTED registration for the children's home
- Manage the residential service, providing expert support to children and young people with EBD
- Recruit, develop, and lead a staff team including Deputies, Team Leaders, and Support Workers
- Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams and social care professionals
- Ensure the service meets OFSTED standards and complies with all regulatory requirements
- Oversee staff performance, training, and development
- Monitor and update care plans to ensure they are accurate and effective
- Manage safeguarding concerns and ensure a safe environment for children and staff
- Work closely with senior management to implement company policies and procedures
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management or equivalent
- Experience as a Deputy or Registered Manager within children’s residential care
- Strong knowledge of OFSTED regulations and standards
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Passion for working with children and young people with EBD
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing a children's residential service
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
