An established specialist provider is seeking an experienced Registered Manager for their therapeutic children’s home near Tiverton. This is a unique opportunity to lead a well-performing 3-bed SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) home, with the autonomy to shape the team and culture. The Registered Manager in this role will oversee a service rated "Good" by Ofsted, ensuring high standards of care while fostering a fun, outdoor-focused environment for children. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the therapeutic children’s home in Tiverton.
- Recruit, develop, and support a team of care staff, embedding therapeutic language and approaches.
- Maintain and improve Ofsted standards, ensuring the home remains rated "Good" or higher.
- Foster a positive, fun, and outdoor activity-rich environment for children, utilizing local knowledge.
- Implement and oversee therapeutic interventions, including working with internal therapy teams.
- Manage budgets, staffing rotas, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Promote a home-like atmosphere, supporting children to decorate their rooms and feel valued.
- Engage with the local community to plan activity days and outdoor adventures.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Registered or Deputy Manager within an SEMH residential setting.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children’s Residential).
- Strong leadership skills with a therapeutic mindset and PACE-style approach.
- Active involvement in the local community and planning of activity days.
- Ability to work within a 40-hour week, embracing the 9-day fortnight working pattern.
- Passion for outdoor activities and creating a fun, engaging environment for children.
- Excellent communication and team-building skills.
