Children’s Home Registered Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and authoritative Registered Manager to oversee a stable, 3-bedded residential children’s home in Erdington. This home specialises in supporting young people with EBD (Emotional Behavioural Difficulties) and low-level Learning Disabilities (LD).

This is a unique opportunity within a high-quality provider and you will join a "Good" rated home with a full, permanent staff team already in place.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a high standard of care in line with Ofsted’s Social Care Inspection Framework (SCCIF).

  • Leadership: Provide strong oversight to a settled staff team, ensuring professional development and high-performance culture.

  • Autonomy: Manage the day-to-day operations of a standalone home with direct support from an experienced RI and Operations Manager.

  • Safeguarding: Act as the lead for safeguarding, ensuring the well-being and progress of all residents.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered for this £55k Registered Manager position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within a Children's Residential setting.

  • Proven Track Record: Must have experience running a house in a Registered Manager’s absence (Acting Manager or Deputy Manager level).

  • Technical Knowledge: A thorough understanding of Children’s Home Regulations and the Ofsted inspection framework is essential. You must be able to hit the ground running.

  • Qualifications: NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards).

  • Specialism: Direct experience with EBD and LD pathways.
