Children's Home Registered Manager – Intake & Assessment 

Location: Newtown, Powys, UK

Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + £17,500 available in bonuses

Job Description:

An innovative and caring specialist provider is seeking a dedicated Children’s Home Registered Manager for their Intake & Assessment site in Powys. This is a unique leadership opportunity in a residential setting that supports children with complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a dedicated team in a Children’s Home located in Powys, ensuring high standards of care and support.
  • Oversee the intake and assessment process for children, working closely with clinical teams to evaluate their care, clinical, and educational needs.
  • Safeguard the well-being of vulnerable children and advocate strongly on their behalf.
  • Develop a nurturing, structured, and stable environment where children can grow and thrive.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements for registered Children’s Homes in Powys.
  • Promote a person-centred approach, empowering children to utilise their strengths and explore their potential.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of the service, prioritising safeguarding and quality assurance.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a strong understanding of the regulatory environment and best practices in residential childcare.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience working with vulnerable children in residential settings, with a strong understanding of their needs.
  • QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Children’s Services or equivalent.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to lead a team in Powys with positivity and a 'can do' attitude.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory regulations relating to Children’s Homes in Powys.
  • Outstanding communication skills and a commitment to person-centred care.
  • A practical yet creative management style, capable of inspiring others and making a positive impact.
  • Ability to balance a hands-on approach with strategic leadership in Powys.
