Children’s Home Registered Manager
Location: Bala, Gwynedd, UK
Salary: Up to £53,000 per annum DOE + Bonus
Job Description:

An established and leading specialist provider of children’s and young people’s care services is looking for a dedicated Children’s Residential Care Home Manager to oversee a 4-bed Children’s Home in Bala, Gwynedd, UK. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop personalised care plans for each young person, addressing their educational, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
- Build and lead a strong, motivated team by supporting recruitment, induction, and ongoing development.
- Foster open consultation systems with young people about their care and ensure their voices are heard.
- Assign Key Workers for each young person and oversee effective care plan implementation.
- Maintain high standards of care in line with regulatory requirements and the Home’s Statement of Purpose.
- Handle complaints, concerns, and safeguarding issues promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to promote young people's welfare.
- Participate in care planning and review meetings to ensure continuous improvement.
- Manage the operational aspects of the home within budget expectations while maintaining excellent standards of care.
- Create and sustain a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people.
Essential Requirements & Experience:
- Passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children in care.
- At least 2 years’ experience in residential childcare, with 1 year supervisory experience within the last 5 years.
- Level 3 Certificate in Children’s Residential Care is essential.
- Level 5 Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare qualification preferred; if not held, must be enrolled within 6 months.
- Knowledge of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong skills in planning, organisation, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and managing behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties.
- Full UK driving license.
