Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per year plus bonus
Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm (with flexibility to meet the needs of the home)

My client is a well-established provider, expanding exceptional children's residential services into Somerset, and they are seeking a passionate Registered Manager to lead our stunning, brand-new Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) home in Yeovil.
This is a unique opportunity to be involved from day one, putting your stamp on the home's design and operational setup. For the right candidate, this role offers genuine career progression, with the aim to move into an Operations Management position within your first 18 months.
Key Responsibilities:

New Service Launch: Play a pivotal role in the design and setup of a brand-new SEMH children's home, ensuring it's equipped to provide outstanding care.

Operational Leadership: Take full responsibility for the daily management and operational excellence of the new SEMH residential home.

Ofsted Compliance: Ensure the home achieves and maintains outstanding Ofsted inspection outcomes from the outset.

Team Building & Leadership: Recruit, lead, mentor, and supervise a dedicated team, fostering a supportive, child-centered, and high-performing culture.

Care & Support: Oversee the development and implementation of personalised care plans, meeting the complex emotional, social, and developmental needs of young people with SEMH.

Safeguarding: Champion and uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents and staff.

Resource Management: Effectively manage budgets, rotas, and resources to ensure the efficient and high-quality running of the home.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, parents, and other external professionals.
What We're Looking For:

Qualification: NVQ or QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Children's Services, or currently undertaking this qualification.

Children's Residential Qualification: NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children's Residential Services (or equivalent).

Management Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a Deputy or Registered Manager's position within a residential children's home environment.

SEMH Experience: Proven experience working with young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is essential.

Ofsted Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations and a commitment to achieving outstanding outcomes from a new service.

Leadership & Drive: Strong, compassionate, and inspiring leadership skills, with a proactive and innovative approach to setting up a new service.

Ambition: A clear desire to progress into Operations Management within 18 months.
