Salary: £34,118.80 to £38,341.60 inclusive of sleep ins
Shifts: Long day shifts and sleep-ins required
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced professional to join a leading specialist provider as a Deputy Care Manager in Shrewsbury. This role offers a chance to support the management team in delivering high-quality care within a children’s residential home that supports young people aged 8 to 18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the management team in running the day-to-day operations of the children’s residential home in Shrewsbury
- Supervise and assist junior staff, ensuring high standards of care and support
- Induct new staff into the home’s procedures and culture
- Ensure the physical, emotional, and behavioural needs of young people are met to a high standard
- Assist in writing and maintaining placement and risk management plans
- Support young people with daily activities, including family contact, local outings, and promoting independence and social skills
Requirements:
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People’s Residential Services or equivalent (essential)
- Experience as a Deputy Manager or Senior Support Worker in children’s residential services (essential)
- Full UK Driving Licence (required for transporting young people)
- Over the age of 21
- Willingness to work towards or already hold a Level 5 qualification in children’s residential care
