This role is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic, resilient, and driven to empower children and young people aged 8-18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage and motivate young people to participate in activities and develop life skills according to their age and abilities
- Maintain a homely, friendly, and caring environment within the residential setting
- Support and manage challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism
- Safeguard children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
- Provide personalized support to promote independence, well-being, and positive development
- Ensure the safety of all residents and maintain comprehensive knowledge of individual care plans, guidelines, and reward systems
- Support positive behaviour management strategies empathetically and effectively
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people’s lives
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Previous experience as a Children’s Support Worker or within a similar social care setting is desirable but not essential
- Must hold a full UK driving license and have access to a car, as transportation may be required
- Applicants should be over 21 years of age
- An empathetic, approachable personality with strong listening and communication skills
- Passionate about helping young people and making a lasting difference in their lives
