We are seeking dedicated staff to join a reputable residential care provider in Hereford, supporting children and adolescents in a nurturing environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, rewarding setting where no two days are alike.
Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker
Location: Hereford, Herefordshire, UK
Salary: £29,395.20 (including sleep-ins) | Full-time, Permanent Contract
Long day shifts and sleep-ins required
What You’ll Do:
- Support young people in engaging with activities and taking responsibility for their lives, tailored to their age and needs.
- Maintain a warm, homely atmosphere within the residential setting.
- Manage challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism.
- Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of children and young people at all times.
- Promote independence and well-being through tailored support plans.
- Foster a safe and protective environment for all residents.
- Follow individual care plans, guidelines, and reward systems while liaising with other professionals, including social workers and psychologists.
- Support young people during challenging behaviours in a safe and empathetic manner.
- Build good relationships with colleagues, families, social workers, and external professionals involved in the care team.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in a social care or healthcare setting, is desirable but not essential.
- A full UK driver’s licence is essential, as transportation of young people is part of the role.
- Over the age of 21.
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People (desirable).
- Reliable and able to commute to the Hereford area.
