Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children's Residential Support Worker to join a supportive team at a recently revamped children's home in Hemel Hempstead. This role is ideal for compassionate, resilient individuals who are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of young people aged 8-18 facing Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering young people, supporting their independence, and creating a safe, nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their lives, tailored to their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the children's home.
- Safely manage challenging behaviours when necessary.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support children and young people in their development and promote their well-being and independence.
- Ensure the safety of all residents and maintain up-to-date knowledge of individual care plans and communication preferences.
- Support challenging behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives, such as psychologists.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Experience within healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
- Must hold a full UK manual driver’s license, as transportation of young people may be required.
- Must be over 21 years of age.
- Ability to commute to Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.
