Job Title: Children's Residential Support Worker – Stevenage, Hertfordshire

Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire, UK

Salary: £31,279 to £33,705 inclusive of sleep ins

Shifts: Long day shifts and sleep-ins required

Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children's Residential Support Worker to join a well-regarded children’s residential service in Stevenage. This role is ideal for motivated individuals who want to support children and young people aged 8 to 18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

Key Responsibilities:

• Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, tailored to their age.
• Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
• Safely manage challenging behaviours and support young people through difficult situations.
• Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
• Support the development of independence and well-being for each young person.
• Keep up-to-date with individual care plans, guidelines, and communication preferences.
• Build positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.

Requirements:

• A full UK manual driver’s license is essential, as transporting young people may be required.
• Over the age of 21.
• Experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or in a related healthcare/social care setting is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Passionate about supporting young people with EBD and committed to their development.
