We are seeking a dedicated Children's Residential Support Worker to join a reputable children’s residential service in Tadley, near Reading. This full-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to support young people aged 8 to 18 years with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping young people develop socially, emotionally, and behaviorally in a safe and caring environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, tailored to their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
- Safely manage challenging behaviours when necessary.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support young people in promoting independence and well-being.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to care plans, guidelines, and communication methods.
- Develop positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
- Must hold a full UK manual driver’s license, as transportation of young people may be required.
- Must be over 21 years of age.
- Ability to commute to Tadley near Reading.
