Shifts: Long day shifts and sleep-ins required

Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider in Yeovil. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people aged 8 to 18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will work in a dynamic environment, supporting young people to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviorally while ensuring they feel safe and cared for. If you are passionate about supporting young people and eager to develop your career in health and social care, this is the perfect role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their lives, tailored to their age.
  • Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
  • Manage challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Support young people’s independence and overall well-being.
  • Ensure a safe environment by adhering to care plans, guidelines, and communication methods.
  • Develop positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or working with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
  • Must hold a full driver’s license, as transportation of young people may be required.
  • Must be over 21 years of age.
  • Ability to commute to Yeovil.

  • Full-time position with long day shifts and sleep-ins required.
