Salary: £30,062 to £34,488 (sleep allowance included)
Shifts: Long day shifts and sleep-ins required
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider in Yeovil. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people aged 8 to 18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will work in a dynamic environment, supporting young people to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviorally while ensuring they feel safe and cared for. Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their lives, tailored to their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
- Manage challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support young people’s independence and overall well-being.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to care plans, guidelines, and communication methods.
- Develop positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or working with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
- Must hold a full driver’s license, as transportation of young people may be required.
- Must be over 21 years of age.
- Ability to commute to Yeovil.
