An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children's Residential Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider in Cardiff. This role is ideal for enthusiastic, resilient individuals eager to support children and teenagers aged 8-18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will work in a dynamic environment, helping young people develop socially, emotionally, and behaviorally while ensuring they feel safe and cared for. Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting
- Manage challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
- Support young people to develop independence and well-being
- Ensure a safe environment and uphold care plans, guidelines, and reward systems
- Develop positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker or working with young people is desirable
- Experience within healthcare or social care settings is advantageous
- Must hold a full driving license and have access to a car, as transportation of young people may be required
- Must be over 21 years of age
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People is desirable
- Ability to commute to Cardiff
