Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider of residential care and education for young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and learning difficulties. The Support Worker role in Heanor and Ilkeston offers an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, home-like environment, helping young people achieve their full potential through compassionate care and engaging activities. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the physical, emotional, and social needs of young people with ASC and learning difficulties.
- Assist in developing individual care plans and promote positive behaviour and boundaries.
- Encourage participation in activities such as arts and crafts, outings, sports, and social events.
- Support young people through educational and vocational development.
- Observe and assess behaviour, providing a safe and trusting environment.
- Work collaboratively with families, social workers, and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and care documentation.
- Participate in shift patterns, including early, late, and sleep-in duties, with some weekend work.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in residential or childcare settings is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly across shift patterns, including sleep-ins.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- A positive attitude and a caring nature.
