Job Title: Support Worker – Residential Care for Young People with Autism Spectrum Condition

Location: Heanor and Ilkeston, Derbyshire, UK

Salary: £30,712.24 – £33,030.24 per annum (DOE)

We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider of residential care and education for young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and learning difficulties. Key Responsibilities:

• Support the physical, emotional, and social needs of young people with ASC and learning difficulties.
• Assist in developing individual care plans and promote positive behaviour and boundaries.
• Encourage participation in activities such as arts and crafts, outings, sports, and social events.
• Support young people through educational and vocational development.
• Observe and assess behaviour, providing a safe and trusting environment.
• Work collaboratively with families, social workers, and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and care documentation.
• Participate in shift patterns, including early, late, and sleep-in duties, with some weekend work.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in residential or childcare settings is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexibly across shift patterns, including sleep-ins.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• A positive attitude and a caring nature.
