Salary: £31,279 to £33,705 (including sleep allowance)
Shifts: Long day shifts and sleep-ins required
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and resilient individual to join a leading specialist provider as a Children's Residential Support Worker in Tadley, near Reading.
This role is ideal for empathetic and driven candidates who are passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives. As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will support children and young people aged 8 to 18 years with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), helping them develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and caring environment.
The position offers a rewarding experience, with opportunities to engage in fun activities such as sports, walking, and computer games, making every day unique and fulfilling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their lives according to their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
- Manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support young people in developing independence and well-being.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to care plans, guidelines, and communication methods.
- Develop positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's care.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
- Must hold a full UK manual driver's license, as transportation of young people may be required.
- Must be over 21 years of age.
- Ability to commute to Tadley near Reading.
