Job Description:
A leading specialist provider is seeking a motivated and resilient Children's Residential Support Worker to join a "good" children’s residential service in Ely, Cambridgeshire. This full-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to support young people aged 8 to 18 years with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). If you are empathetic, driven, and passionate about making a positive impact on young lives, this could be the perfect career move for you.

The role involves working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same, providing both challenges and rewards.

You will be supporting young people to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and caring setting, with plenty of opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their lives.
  • Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
  • Deal with challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Support young people’s independence and overall well-being.
  • Ensure a safe environment and uphold individual care plans and guidelines.
  • Develop positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
  • Must hold a full UK manual driver’s license, as transportation of young people may be required.
  • Must be over the age of 21 and able to commute to Ely, Cambridgeshire.
  • Passionate about supporting young people aged 8 to 18 with EBD and committed to making a difference.

Benefits:

  • Opportunity to complete a fully funded Level 4 Children & Young People qualification.
  • Free meals during shifts.
  • Paid to participate in activities like computer games and visits to theme parks.
  • Casual dress code.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • 28 days of annual leave.
  • Access to discounts for shopping outlets, restaurants, and cinemas.
  • Comprehensive training and CPD planning.
  • Opportunities for career development and earnings maximisation.
  • Enhanced disclosure cost coverage.

If you are passionate about the lives of young people and want to start or develop your career in health and social care, this is the role for you.
