Job Description:
A leading specialist provider is seeking a motivated and resilient Children's Residential Support Worker to join a "good" children’s residential service in Ely, Cambridgeshire. This full-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to support young people aged 8 to 18 years with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). You will be supporting young people to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and caring setting, with plenty of opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their lives.
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
- Deal with challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support young people’s independence and overall well-being.
- Ensure a safe environment and uphold individual care plans and guidelines.
- Develop positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Experience within healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
- Must hold a full UK manual driver’s license, as transportation of young people may be required.
- Must be over the age of 21 and able to commute to Ely, Cambridgeshire.
- Passionate about supporting young people aged 8 to 18 with EBD and committed to making a difference.
