Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children's Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider in a nurturing residential children’s home located in Rugeley. This role is ideal for enthusiastic, resilient, and motivated individuals passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives. As a Children's Support Worker, you will support young people aged 8-18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours, helping them develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and caring environment. Working in this role offers a rewarding experience, with no two days being the same, and provides opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their lives, tailored to their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential home.
- Manage challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support the development of independence and well-being of the young people.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to care plans, guidelines, and reward systems.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence (automatic licences accepted) is essential, as transportation of young people may be required.
- Over the age of 21.
- Ability to commute to Rugeley.
- Experience as a Children's Support Worker or in a related health or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
