Job Description:
Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact in their lives? We are seeking a dedicated Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a highly-rated children’s residential service in Stevenage. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work with a small, committed team supporting young people aged 8–18 years with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
As a Children’s Residential Support Worker in Stevenage, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing environment that promotes emotional well-being and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage and motivate young people through activities, encouraging responsibility and independence appropriate to their age.
- Create a warm, safe, and nurturing home environment, promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Safely support and de-escalate challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism.
- Collaborate with parents, social workers, psychologists, and other professionals to support each child's individual care plan.
- Protect young people from risks, maintaining a safe environment at all times.
- Support young people in developing life skills, fostering resilience and social development.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential—training will be provided.
- Must hold a full UK manual driving license, as transport support is part of the role.
- Over 21 and able to commute to Stevenage.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with flexible shifts, including long days and sleep-ins.
