Salary: £30,062 to £34,488 (Inclusive of sleep allowances)

Shifts: Long day shifts and sleep-ins required

 

Job Description:
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people? We are seeking a dedicated Children's Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider in Bishop Auckland.

This full-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive team environment, providing exceptional care for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people in their daily activities and interests, promoting independence and well-being.
  • Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips to enrich the children’s experiences.
  • Engage in weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking, tailored to the children’s interests.
  • Protect children from risks to their health and welfare, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Provide emotional and practical support, fostering a nurturing environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
  • Support children in managing challenging behaviours, helping to minimise incidents and promote positive behaviour.

Requirements:

  • A genuine desire to support vulnerable children and young people.
  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient personality.
  • Some professional or personal experience in social care or related fields.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • A valid driving licence is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications are welcome but not mandatory.
  • Candidates must be over the age of 21.
