Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and motivated individual to join a leading specialist provider as a Children's Residential Support Worker in Buntingford, Hertfordshire. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people aged 8 to 18 years with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting young people's social, emotional, and behavioural development within a safe and caring environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, tailored to their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
- Safely manage challenging behaviours when necessary.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support young people in developing independence and well-being.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to care plans, guidelines, and communication methods.
- Support and manage challenging behaviour sympathetically and safely.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Experience within healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
- Must hold a full UK manual driver’s license, as transportation of young people is required.
- Must be over the age of 21.
- Ability to commute to Buntingford, Hertfordshire.
