Job Description:
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people? A leading specialist provider is seeking a dedicated Children's Residential Support Worker to join a friendly residential service in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to support young people aged 10-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) in a nurturing and safe environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support young people in a fast-paced environment, encouraging their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Promote independence and well-being through therapeutic care and activity participation.
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of young people by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of individual care plans and guidelines.
  • Manage challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically, creating a secure environment.
  • Develop positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Maintain a homely, friendly atmosphere within the residential setting.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people, or in social care, is desirable.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s licence, as transportation of young people may be required.
  • Over the age of 21.
  • NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People (desirable).
  • Knowledge of mental health support work or related social care experience (desirable).
