Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children's Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider in Handsworth, Birmingham. The Children's Support Worker role in Handsworth involves working in a busy, dynamic setting where no two days are the same, providing both challenges and rewards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, appropriate to their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential home.
- Deal with challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support young people to develop independence and well-being.
- Ensure a safe environment and keep up-to-date with individual care plans, guidelines, and reward systems.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with Young People is desirable but not essential.
- Experience within a health or social care setting is advantageous.
- Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence (automatic licences accepted).
- Must be over 21 years of age.
- Ability to commute to Handsworth, Birmingham.
