We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join a reputable children’s home in Crediton, Devon. This role involves working within a bespoke care environment to support children’s development, safety, and well-being. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to deliver high-quality care tailored to each child's individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Residential Support Worker based in Crediton, your daily duties will include:
- Planning and supporting children’s weekly activities, ensuring their voices are heard and their safety is maintained.
- Following individualised Placement Plans and supporting children’s attendance at education.
- Upholding professional standards, adhering to policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within the home.
- Recording daily activities, incidents, and medication administration accurately.
- Supporting children’s emotional, social, and educational development through positive interactions and role modelling.
- Assisting with behaviour management using appropriate de-escalation techniques and following PBS plans.
- Raising concerns or issues directly with senior management and participating in team meetings and training sessions.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Residential Support Worker, you will need:
- Relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care or equivalent.
- Experience working in a children’s residential or similar care setting.
- Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS check and a full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure with diverse groups of children and staff.
