Our client, a leading children's charity, is seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join their new Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home in Hinckley, Leicestershire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive team environment, providing short-term placements for vulnerable children and young people aged 8-18.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Residential Support Worker based in Hinckley, Leicestershire, your daily duties will include:
- Building trust and developing nurturing relationships to promote independence, wellbeing, and resilience among service users.
- Working collaboratively with parents, carers, and professionals to support the needs of children and young people.
- Contributing to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Accurately documenting information and ensuring records are kept up to date in line with safeguarding policies.
- Promoting a safe, supportive environment at all times, adhering to safeguarding and health & safety procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Residential Support Worker, you will need:
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve this within the required timeframe.
- Motivation to create a safe space and support young people's emotional and social development.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and the protection of vulnerable children and young people.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Relevant experience working with children and young people is desirable but not essential; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key.
