Job Description:

An established provider of children’s residential care is looking for dedicated and compassionate Children’s Residential Support Workers to join their team in North Aston, Oxfordshire. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to support children and teenagers aged 8-18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), helping them grow emotionally, socially, and behaviorally in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support young people in engaging with activities and developing independence appropriate to their age
- Maintain a warm, homely atmosphere within the residential setting
- Manage challenging behaviors with patience, professionalism, and understanding
- Protect children from risks to their health, safety, and welfare
- Promote independence and well-being through supportive and caring approaches
- Follow care plans, guidelines, and reward systems to ensure a safe environment
- Build positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals
- Safeguard and support each young person's individual needs through effective communication and trust-building
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in children’s residential care or working with vulnerable young people is preferred
- Experience in healthcare or social care environments is a plus
- Full, valid driver’s license with access to a car (sleep-in allowance included)
- Over 21 years of age
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People (desirable, not essential)
- Reliable, compassionate, motivated to support children with complex needs
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
