Salary: £31,279 – £33,705 per annum (including sleep allowance)

Job Description:

Our leading specialist provider is seeking a dedicated and resilient Children’s Residential Support Worker to join their team in Wisbech. In this rewarding role, you will support children and young people aged 8-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them develop socially, emotionally, and independently in a safe, caring environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility suitable to their age
  • Maintain a homely and welcoming environment within residential homes
  • Manage challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism
  • Protect children and young people from risks, ensuring their health and welfare
  • Support individuals in developing independence and promoting overall well-being
  • Ensure a safe environment by adhering to care plans, guidelines, and communication strategies
  • Handle challenging behaviour safely and sympathetically
  • Build positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals such as psychologists

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or in a similar young people or healthcare setting is desirable but not essential
  • Valid driver’s license required for transportation of young people
  • Over the age of 21
  • Ability to commute to Wisbech, Cambridgeshire
  • Passionate about supporting young people and making a difference in their lives
