Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 3-week rolling rota

Join a leading specialist provider in residential childcare as a Children’s Support Worker in a welcoming 3-bed children’s home in Gloucester. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people aged 5-18 years with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours. If you’re motivated, dedicated, and eager to support development and well-being in a caring environment, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage and support young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own development based on their age
- Foster a homely, friendly, and nurturing environment for children and young people
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically
- Safeguard children from risks to their health and welfare at all times
- Promote independence, emotional growth, and overall well-being of young people
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment in line with care plans and policies
- Support communication and behaviour strategies outlined in individual care plans
- Develop professional relationships with team members, parents, social workers, and external professionals such as psychologists
What We're Looking For:
- Experience as a Children’s Support Worker or in a relevant healthcare or social care setting (desirable but not essential)
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential, as transportation of young people may be required
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Over 22 years of age to meet regulatory requirements
- Reliable and committed to supporting young people’s personal development
- Passionate about making a positive impact in young people’s lives
