We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Children’s Residential Support Workers to join a leading specialist provider supporting children and young people in a welcoming 3-bed residential home in Yatton.
This rewarding role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development, independence, and well-being of children with learning disabilities. You will be a vital part of a vibrant team committed to delivering person-centred care and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and support, including personal care, medication administration (following training), and assisting with mealtimes
- Foster a warm, positive environment by engaging children in activities, hobbies, and educational pursuits
- Build trusting relationships with children, their families, and other professionals
- Support the development of independent living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and personal organisation
- Assist with implementing individual care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
- Promote social, emotional, and physical development
- Maintain accurate records of progress and incidents
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure high-quality care
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
Ideal Candidates Will Be:
- Compassionate, empathetic, and caring towards children with learning disabilities
- Patient, resilient, and able to remain calm in challenging situations
- Enthusiastic, creative, and proactive in engaging children through activities
- Reliable, responsible, and committed to delivering consistent care
- Excellent communicators, able to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues
- Flexible, willing to work a rota including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins (fully paid)
Essential Requirements:
- Genuinely interested in working with children and young people with learning disabilities
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and child welfare
- Basic IT skills for record keeping
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable (Full training provided):
- Previous experience with children or young people in residential or care settings
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent
- Full UK Driving Licence (due to activity locations)
