Job Description:

Join a leading specialist provider as a Children’s Support Worker in a vibrant 3-bed residential children’s home located in Gloucester. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people aged 5-18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours, helping them develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe, caring environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage and support children and young people to participate in activities and develop independence based on their age and needs
  • Maintain a warm, homely, and positive environment within the residential setting
  • Safely manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours with patience and empathy
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Support individuals in achieving personal goals and providing emotional and practical assistance
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for all residents
  • Keep up-to-date with care plans, guidelines, and communication preferences for each young person
  • Develop strong relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives, including psychologists
  • Support and promote the well-being, safety, and development of all children and young people in your care

What We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Children’s Support Worker or in a youth or social care setting is desirable but not essential
  • Full UK driving license is essential, as you may need to transport young people from time to time
  • Over the age of 22 to meet safeguarding requirements
  • Ability to commute easily to Gloucester
  • Passionate about supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs
  • Motivated, caring, and committed to making a positive impact in young people’s lives
