Job Description: Our client, a leading social care provider, is seeking a dedicated Children's Support Worker to join their team in Pontypridd. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people within a supportive environment. The position begins as a temporary assignment with the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities: As a Children's Support Worker based in Pontypridd, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people in their day-to-day activities and interests
- Attending weekends away, holidays, and trips to promote social inclusion and independence
- Assisting with personal care, behaviour management, and safeguarding procedures
- Promoting the young person's independence and wellbeing through engaging activities
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care plans and safeguarding guidelines
- Providing emotional and practical support to children and young people in a residential or community setting
Requirements & Qualifications: To be successful as a Children's Support Worker, you will need:
- A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a social care setting
- Restraint training (TMVA) or willingness to undertake a 3-day restraint training course
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
