Children's Support Worker
Location: Pontyclun, Wales, UK
Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 per hour (DOE)

Job Description:

A leading specialist provider is seeking dedicated Children's Support Workers to join their residential services in Pontyclun. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support vulnerable children and young people, helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people with their daily activities and interests
  • Promote independence and overall wellbeing of the young residents
  • Attend and assist with weekends away, holidays, and trips, including activities such as climbing, baking, and leisure outings
  • Ensure the safety and protection of children by adhering to care plans and guidelines
  • Provide emotional and practical support to young people in your care
  • Support behaviour management strategies and help minimise challenging incidents
  • Attend weekend and evening activities to support children’s interests and development
  • Participate in training and development opportunities, including restraint training if not already qualified

Requirements:

  • A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a social care setting
  • Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People or equivalent
  • Restraint training certification (TMVA) or willingness to undertake a 3-day course
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
