Children’s Residential Support Worker – Rhuthin, Denbighshire

 

Salary: £26,291 – £27,996 + £67.50 per sleep

Contract: Full-time, Permanent | Hours: 40 per week + sleeps | Shift Pattern: 2 on / 4 off

We have an amazing opportunity for a Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a beautiful rural children’s home just outside Rhuthin. You’ll support young people aged 8–18 with complex needs and behaviours in a therapeutic residential setting where care and compassion come first.

 

This role is perfect for experienced children’s support workers or those from adult mental health or challenging behaviour backgrounds who are ready to move into children’s residential care.

What You’ll Do

 
  • Support and mentor young people to build confidence and independence 

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where they can thrive 

  • Promote social, emotional, and behavioural development 

  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour calmly and effectively 

  • Build positive relationships with colleagues, families, and professionals

  • Help maintain the warm, homely feel of the service

 

What We’re Looking For 

 
  • Experience in children’s residential care or adult mental health/challenging behaviour support (essential/desirable mix) 

  • Driver’s licence – ESSENTIAL (you’ll drive young people to school and activities) 

  • 21+ years old – ESSENTIAL (in line with Ofsted regulations)

  • Passion, resilience, and a genuine desire to make a difference
