Job Title: Children's Support Worker
Location: Merthyr, Wales, UK
Salary: £14.24 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) / DOE

As a Children's Support Worker, you will support children and young people in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure their safety and wellbeing in various settings. Key Responsibilities:

• Support children and young people in all daily activities and interests
• Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children
• Support and promote the young person's independence and wellbeing
• Attend weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or trips to Butlins
• Protect children and young people from health and safety risks
• Provide emotional and practical support within your designated setting
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
• Support children and young people in managing challenging behaviour and minimise incidents

Requirements:

• Experience working with children or within a social care environment (minimum 6 months)
• Relationship-building skills and resilience
• Understanding of trauma, homelessness, domestic abuse, and their impacts
• Crisis response awareness and emotional resilience
• Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
• TMVA restraint training certificate or willingness to undergo training
• Valid UK driving licence
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
• Right to work in the UK
