Job Title: Relief/Temporary Children’s Support Worker (Restraint Trained)
Location: Treforest, Wales, United Kingdom
Salary: £14.24 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) / DOE

Key Responsibilities:

• Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests as a Relief/Temporary Children’s Support Worker in Treforest
• Be restraint trained or be willing to undertake the required training course
• Promote independence and wellbeing for the young people you support
• Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away with the children
• Support weekend and evening activities (e.g., outings and in-home activities)
• Protect children and young people from risks to health and welfare
• Provide emotional and practical support within the young person’s home
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
• Support, overcome and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging

Requirements:

• Relationship-building skills and the ability to engage and build strong relationships with young people
• Understanding of trauma, including the impacts of homelessness, domestic abuse, and trauma
• A forward-thinking approach to crisis response
• Emotional resilience: remain calm and collected in challenging and traumatic situations
• Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
• At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
• TMVA – Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to complete training)
• Valid UK driving licence
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
• Right to work in the UK
