Job Title: Relief / Temporary Children’s Support Worker (Restraint Trained)
Location: Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, United Kingdom
Salary: £14.24 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) + £76 per sleep in (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:
- Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests in Aberdare
- Promote independence and wellbeing, providing emotional and practical support within the home
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away with children in Aberdare
- Support weekend and evening activities (e.g., outings and structured interests)
- Protect children and young people by following health and welfare guidance and care plans
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
- Support, overcome, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
- Be restraint trained or willing to complete the required training course
Requirements:
- Relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and build strong relationships with young people
- Understanding of trauma, including impacts of homelessness, domestic abuse, and trauma
- Forward-thinking approach to crisis response
- Emotional resilience: remain calm and collected in challenging situations
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a similar Social Care setting
- TMVA – Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to undergo training)
- Valid UK driving licence
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
