Job Title: Relief/Temporary Children’s Support Worker
Location: Powys, Wales, United Kingdom
Salary: £14.24 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) + £76 per sleep in (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:
As a Relief/Temporary Children’s Support Worker in Powys, you will:
- Support children and young people with daily activities, interests, and routines
- Be restraint trained, or be willing to undertake the required training course
- Promote independence and wellbeing, supporting young people to thrive
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away with the children
- Support weekend and evening activities (e.g., outings and in-home activities)
- Protect children and young people from risks to health and welfare
- Provide emotional and practical support within the home environment
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
- Support, overcome, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
Requirements:
To be considered for this Relief/Temporary Children’s Support Worker position in Powys, you will need:
- Relationship-building skills and the ability to engage and form strong connections with young people
- Understanding of trauma, including the impacts of homelessness, domestic abuse, and trauma
- A forward-thinking approach to crisis response
- Emotional resilience to remain calm and collected in challenging situations
- An empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting
- TMVA – Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to complete training)
- A valid UK driving licence
- A current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
- The right to work in the UK
