Job Title: Relief/Temporary Children’s Support Worker
Location: Powys, Wales, United Kingdom
Salary: £14.24 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) + £76 per sleep in (DOE)

Are you ready to make a real impact on your own terms? We’re urgently seeking compassionate, reliable, and adaptable Relief/Temporary Children’s Support Workers to join our team in the Powys area. This Relief/Temporary Children’s Support Worker role in Powys offers ultimate flexibility, meaningful work, and the chance to gain invaluable experience while supporting children and young people in day-to-day life.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Relief/Temporary Children’s Support Worker in Powys, you will:

  • Support children and young people with daily activities, interests, and routines
  • Be restraint trained, or be willing to undertake the required training course
  • Promote independence and wellbeing, supporting young people to thrive
  • Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away with the children
  • Support weekend and evening activities (e.g., outings and in-home activities)
  • Protect children and young people from risks to health and welfare
  • Provide emotional and practical support within the home environment
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
  • Support, overcome, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging

Requirements:
To be considered for this Relief/Temporary Children’s Support Worker position in Powys, you will need:

  • Relationship-building skills and the ability to engage and form strong connections with young people
  • Understanding of trauma, including the impacts of homelessness, domestic abuse, and trauma
  • A forward-thinking approach to crisis response
  • Emotional resilience to remain calm and collected in challenging situations
  • An empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting
  • TMVA – Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to complete training)
  • A valid UK driving licence
  • A current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
