Salary: £14.24 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) + £76 per sleep in (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests
  • Promote independence and wellbeing within the home environment
  • Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away with the children
  • Support weekend and evening activities (e.g., outings and group activities)
  • Protect children and young people from risks to health and welfare
  • Provide emotional and practical support within your home
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
  • Support, overcome, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
  • Be Restraint Trained, or be willing to complete the required training course

Requirements:

  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient approach
  • Ability to build strong relationships with young people
  • Understanding of trauma, including impacts of homelessness and domestic abuse
  • Forward-thinking attitude to crisis response
  • Calm and collected in challenging and traumatic situations
  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
  • TMVA – Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to undertake training)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
