Job Description:
Our client, a leading social care provider, is seeking dedicated Children's Support Workers to join their residential services in Cardiff. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people who have been taken into care, supporting their development and wellbeing within a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Children's Support Worker based in Cardiff, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people with their day-to-day activities and interests.
- Promoting independence and emotional wellbeing through personalised care plans.
- Attending trips, holidays, and activities such as climbing, baking, or weekends away to enrich their experiences.
- Ensuring the safety and welfare of children by adhering to care guidelines and risk assessments.
- Providing emotional and practical support, especially during challenging behaviour episodes.
- Assisting with behaviour management and incident minimisation, including restraint training if qualified.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Children's Support Worker, you will need:
- A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature.
- At least 6 months' experience working with children or within a similar social care setting.
- A valid UK Driving Licence.
- A current Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Restraint training certification (TMVA) or willingness to undertake a 3-day restraint training course.
