Salary: £14.24 - £18.48 inclusive of holiday pay 

Job Description:
Do you want to enable children and young people who have been taken into care to have the best possible start in life? As a Children’s Support Worker in Neath, you’ll work 2:1 with other staff and support children in their homes—helping them build independence, wellbeing, and safe routines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests as a Children’s Support Worker in Neath
  • Promote independence and wellbeing, ensuring each young person’s needs are understood and supported
  • Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away with the children (as required for the Children’s Support Worker role in Neath)
  • Support weekend and evening activities, from everyday interests to community outings
  • Protect children and young people from risks to health and welfare
  • Provide emotional and practical support within the home
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to support safe care
  • Support, overcome, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging

Requirements:

  • A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting
  • Restraint training: restraint trained, or willing to undergo the 3-day course
  • Valid UK driving licence (required for the Children’s Support Worker role in Neath)
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
