Job Title: Relief/Temporary Support Worker (Children's Support Worker)
Location: Bridgend, Wales, UK
Salary: Starting at £14.24 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) and £76 per sleep-in shift
Job Description:

Our client is seeking compassionate, reliable, and adaptable Relief/Temporary Support Workers to join their team in the Porthcawl area. This role offers flexible working hours, allowing you to choose shifts that fit your schedule, making it ideal for students, parents, or those with other commitments. As a Children's Support Worker, you will support children and young people in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure their safety and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children and young people in daily activities and interests
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children
- Support and participate in weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or weekends at Butlins
- Promote the young persons' independence and wellbeing
- Protect children from health and welfare risks
- Provide emotional and practical support within the home
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines
- Support children in managing challenging behaviour and minimise incidents
Requirements:
- Relationship-building skills and resilience
- Understanding of trauma, homelessness, and domestic abuse impacts
- Crisis response attitude and emotional resilience
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- At least 6 months experience working with children or in a social care setting
- TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate or willingness to undergo training
- Valid UK driving licence
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
