Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
As a Children's Support Worker based in Bridgend, your daily duties will include:

• Supporting children and young people with their day-to-day activities and interests.
• Promoting independence and wellbeing through personalised care plans.
• Attending weekends away, holidays, and trips to support children’s social and recreational activities.
• Ensuring the safety and welfare of children by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care guidelines.
• Providing emotional and practical support to help children overcome challenges and develop resilience.
• Assisting with behaviour management and de-escalation techniques to minimise incidents.
• Attending activities such as climbing, baking, or weekends away, including trips to holiday parks like Butlins.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Children's Support Worker, you will need:

• A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
• Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature.
• At least 6 months experience working with children or within a similar social care setting.
• TMVA or willingness to undergo restraint training.
• Valid UK Driving Licence.
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• The right to work in the UK.
