Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of young people?

We're looking for passionate and dedicated Residential Children's Care Workers to join our teams in three beautiful Good and Outstanding homes nestled in the idyllic Peak District. If you're driven to provide exceptional experiences and empower young people to thrive, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

Whether you're an experienced children's residential care professional seeking a new opportunity or someone with valuable transferable skills and a genuine desire to support young people, we have full-time Support Worker and Senior Support Worker roles available.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rates: £12.54 - £13.10 (depending on experience)
  • Generous sleep-in allowance: £70.50 per night (typically 6-8 nights per month)
  • Excellent holiday entitlement: 28 – 35 days annually
  • Investment in your development: Fully funded NVQs and apprenticeships
  • Secure future: Company Pension scheme
  • Recognition and rewards: Loyalty & referral bonuses (from £50 - £500)
  • Comprehensive support: Employee Assistance Programme, perks & discounts

We invest in people, not just qualifications.

Our long-established and highly regarded residential care, complemented by on-site education, allows us to truly nurture, support, and engage young people, helping them overcome challenges. We work with young people facing a range of complex needs, offering both short-term crisis intervention and longer-term placements focused on their journey towards semi-independence.

We believe in the potential of our staff just as much as the young people we support. Bring your positive attitude, ambition, resilience, and empathy, and we’ll provide the training and mentoring you need to build a truly rewarding career. You'll develop your skills and confidence while making a profound impact on the lives of young people.

We recognize that valuable life experiences and transferable skills can make exceptional care workers. Your understanding of boundaries and your ability to connect with young people provide a strong foundation for our comprehensive training on the more technical aspects of the role. Our diverse workforce, with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, enables us to better understand and empathize with the young people we support, leading to consistently positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of each young person, addressing their individual care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
  • Exercise appropriate guidance and support for young people at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with parents, families, carers, and other professionals to advocate for, safeguard, and promote the welfare of young people.
  • Work flexibly across various shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and sleep-ins, on weekdays, weekends, and Bank Holidays, both within the homes and on residential trips.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive organisational culture that values every team member and actively challenges discrimination.
  • Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.

About Us:

Established in 1997 and based in the High Peak, we provide high-quality residential care and on-site education for children and young people (aged 11 - 17 years) from across the UK and occasionally internationally. Our young people face a wide range of complex social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. We are committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment, using innovative strategies to engage young people and help them overcome disadvantages, leading to genuine equality of opportunity in their future lives. We are a disability-confident and age-friendly employer and encourage applications from all backgrounds.

Essential Skills:

  • Some previous experience working in children's residential care settings (or a similar field) is desirable.
  • Senior roles require a Level 3/4 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Applicants must be able to commit to full-time (40 hours/week) working, including sleep-ins and potential short residential trips.
  • A manual driving license is essential for this role.
  • All staff are responsible for safeguarding and promoting equal opportunities and for challenging any discriminatory behaviour or practice.
  • Successful candidates will be subject to stringent pre-employment checks, thorough referencing, and the maintenance of Enhanced DBS clearance.

Ready to make a difference?

If you are passionate about improving the lives of young people and believe you have the skills and dedication we're looking for, we encourage you to register your interest now by sending us an up-to-date CV and covering letter.
