Job Title: Children’s Support Worker (Residential Care)
Location: Porth, Cornwall, United Kingdom
Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

As a Children’s Support Worker in Porth, you’ll work 2:1 with other staff members and children in their homes, helping to create safe, supportive, and positive day-to-day experiences. Key Responsibilities:

• Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests as a Children’s Support Worker in Porth
• Promote independence and wellbeing, helping young people build confidence and routines
• Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away with the children as part of the Children’s Support Worker role in Porth
• Support weekend and evening activities, from engaging hobbies to community outings
• Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
• Provide emotional and practical support within the home
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to support safety
• Support, overcome, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging

Requirements:

• A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
• Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
• At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
• TMVA (Restraint Training) certificate, or willingness to undergo the 3-day course
• Valid UK Driving Licence (required for the Children’s Support Worker role in Porth)
• Current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
• Right to work in the UK
