Job Title: Young Persons Support Worker
Location: Bridgend, Wales
Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 per hour (DOE)

Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with children and young people facing various challenges, including mental health issues, trauma, homelessness, and substance misuse. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people in their daily activities and interests
  • Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips to support children and young people
  • Promote independence and overall wellbeing of young clients
  • Participate in weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or trips to local attractions
  • Provide emotional and practical support within the care setting
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and safety guidelines
  • Support behaviour management and minimise challenging incidents
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people at all times

Requirements:

  • Genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience working with children or within a social care environment
  • Restraint training (TMVA) or willingness to undertake a 3-day restraint course
  • Valid UK Driving Licence or willingness to obtain one
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
