Job Title: Young Adult Support Worker – Homeless Hostels
Location: Cardiff, Wales
Salary: £14.24 - £28.48  per hour 

Job Description:

Our client, a leading specialist provider, is seeking dedicated Young Adult Support Workers to support young adults aged 18-25 in homeless hostels in Cardiff. This role offers an opportunity to empower vulnerable individuals, promote independence, and provide essential emotional and practical support. If you are resilient, empathetic, and committed to social care, this could be the perfect role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support young adults in all daily activities and interests
• Promote independence and overall wellbeing of young people
• Protect young people from risks to their health and welfare
• Provide emotional and practical support within the hostel environment
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and safety guidelines
• Assist in managing challenging behaviour and minimise incidents

Requirements:

• Genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable young people
• Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
• At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a social care setting
• Valid UK Driving Licence
• TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
• Right to work in the UK
