Our client, a leading specialist provider, is seeking dedicated Children's Support Workers to join their residential services in Lisvane, Cardiff. Key Responsibilities
As a Children's Support Worker based in Lisvane, Cardiff, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people in their daily activities and interests
- Promoting independence and wellbeing of young residents
- Attending weekends away, holidays, and trips with children and young people
- Supporting children during weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or weekends away in holiday parks
- Protecting children from risks to their health and welfare
- Providing emotional and practical support within the home
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care plans and safety guidelines
- Assisting in managing challenging behaviour and minimising incidents
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Children's Support Worker, you will need:
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a social care setting
- An empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- Restraint trained or willing to undergo a 3-day restraint training course
- A valid UK Driving Licence
- A current Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- A strong desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
