Job Title: Children’s Support Worker (Children Residential Services)

Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Job Description:
Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable children and young people? Our client, a leading provider of children’s residential services in Bridgend, is seeking dedicated Children’s Support Workers to join their team. Based in Bridgend, Wales, this role involves working closely with children in a caring and supportive environment to promote their independence, wellbeing, and positive development.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Children’s Support Worker in Bridgend, your daily duties will include:

• Supporting children and young people in their day-to-day activities and interests within the residential setting.
• Promoting independence and wellbeing through personalised care plans.
• Attending weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children to foster social skills and confidence.
• Assisting with weekend and evening activities, ranging from everyday interests to organised trips.
• Protecting children from risks to their health and welfare, ensuring a safe environment.
• Providing emotional and practical support, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines.
• Supporting children to manage challenging behaviour and minimise incidents effectively.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Children’s Support Worker in Bridgend, you will need:

• A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
• Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature.
• At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting.
• Restraint trained (or willing to undergo a 3-day restraint training course).
• TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to complete training).
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Current Enhanced DBS check on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Availability for shifts between 08:00–22:00 or 13:00–22:00.
