Job Title: Children’s Support Worker (Children Residential Services)
Location: Bridgend, Wales, United Kingdom
Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 inclusive of holiday pay (DOE)
Job Description:

As a Children’s Support Worker in Bridgend, you’ll work 2:1 with other staff members and support children in their homes—helping them build independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes every day.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support children and young people in their day-to-day activities and interests as a Children’s Support Worker in Bridgend
- Promote independence and wellbeing within the home
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children
- Support weekend and evening activities (from everyday interests to trips away)
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
- Provide emotional and practical support within your home
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
- Support, overcome, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
Requirements:
- A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting
- Restraint trained (or willing to undergo the 3-day course)
- TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to complete training)
- Valid UK driving licence (required)
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
- Availability for shifts between 08:00–22:00 or 13:00–22:00 (as a Children’s Support Worker in Bridgend)
