Job Title: Children’s Support Worker (Children Residential Services)
Location: Bridgend, Wales, United Kingdom
Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 inclusive of holiday pay (DOE)

Job Description:
Do you want to enable children and young people who have been taken into care to have the best possible start in life? As a Children’s Support Worker in Bridgend, you’ll work 2:1 with other staff members and support children in their homes—helping them build independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes every day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people in their day-to-day activities and interests as a Children’s Support Worker in Bridgend
  • Promote independence and wellbeing within the home
  • Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children
  • Support weekend and evening activities (from everyday interests to trips away)
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Provide emotional and practical support within your home
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
  • Support, overcome, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging

Requirements:

  • A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting
  • Restraint trained (or willing to undergo the 3-day course)
  • TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to complete training)
  • Valid UK driving licence (required)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Availability for shifts between 08:00–22:00 or 13:00–22:00 (as a Children’s Support Worker in Bridgend)
