Children’s Support Worker (Residential Children’s Home) — Near Aberdare (CF44)
Pay: £14.24 – £28.48 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Shifts: 08:00–22:00 or 13:00–22:00
Type: Temporary / agency shifts
Driver required: Yes (UK licence)

Vetro Social Care is recruiting Children’s Support Workers to support young people in a residential children’s service. You’ll work as part of a staff team (including 2:1 support where required), helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing environment.


The home

  • Registered to support up to 4 young people
  • Located approximately 6 miles from Aberdare
  • 6 bedrooms total: 4 for young people and 2 for staff (including 1 en-suite)
  • 1 bathroom and 1 shower room for young people
  • Comfortable communal spaces including a lounge
  • Kitchen/diner
  • Extensive grounds

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting children and young people with day-to-day routines, activities and hobbies
  • Promoting independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes
  • Providing emotional and practical support within the home
  • Keeping young people safe by following care plans, risk assessments and guidance
  • Supporting with behaviours that may be challenging and helping to reduce incidents
  • Supporting with evenings/weekends, activities and occasional trips (where required)

What you’ll need

  • Minimum 6 months’ experience supporting children/young people (or similar social care setting)
  • UK driving licence
  • Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service) or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Restraint training (TMVA/PMVA or similar) or willingness to complete a 3-day course
