Job Title: Children's Support Worker
Location: Beddau, Wales
Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Job Description:
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people? We are seeking dedicated Children's Support Workers for residential services in Beddau. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support vulnerable children and young people, helping them achieve their full potential in a caring and supportive environment. The Children's Support Worker role in Beddau is ideal for individuals who are resilient, empathetic, and committed to creating meaningful change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children and young people with their daily activities and interests
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips to promote independence and wellbeing
- Support children during weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking
- Maintain a safe environment by understanding and following care plans and guidelines
- Provide emotional and practical support to young people in your care
- Assist in managing challenging behaviour and minimise incidents
- Support children in developing their independence and confidence
- Participate in restraint training (or be willing to undergo a 3-day course)
Requirements:
- A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a social care setting
- TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
